This amp is a dead-on knock-off of a Fender Bandmaster Reverb head. These pictures are of Marc's amp; he also had an extra amp chassis and matching reverb unit in his closet with no wooden cabinet or tubes, which he let me bring home with me. I was able to get a friend of mine to build an exact replica of the original wooden cabinet, replace a few parts, fix some bad solder joints... and it's actually a damned good amp, much different sounding from a Fender even though the electrical schematic matches almost exactly! The main differences appear to be due to the Mexican transformers, Mexican capacitors and slight differences in the reverb circuit. With the reverb cranked, this thing is a surf monster, just unbelievable, and the distortion is very smooth and fat, kind of anti-heavy-metal. I've used it in the studio a lot; it gets the darndest reactions from people until they actually try it. (Does anyone else in the US have one of these things?)
Spec: 100 Watt Head with Reverb; tubes: 6L6GT x 4, 12AX7 x 4, 12AT7 x 2.
